Montepulciano d´Abruzzo Mazzamurello 2012, Torre dei Beati

In Abruzzese traditional lore,“Mazzamurello” is the name of a playful elf. As this wine is made from a special technique where the best batches of the year are aged on the fine lees and the aromatic result is difficult to calculate (unusual for a Montepulciano), winemakers like to imagine that Mazzamurello is present in the cellar playing with the wine. The wide range of sensations includes marasca cherry, current, lavender, and eucalyptus.
Powerful structure with a strong acidic backbone, it has an excellent correspondence between the nose and palate. 20 months in barrique. Pair with wild boar stew.
