The winery is located in Val di Pesa, one of the most enchanting valleys of the Chianti Classico region. The landscape brings to mind the muted, misty backgrounds in paintings by Leonardo and other Renaissance artists. In 2003 Giacomo Tachis embraced his love for this landscape and decided to renovate the old vineyard in front of the Podere La Villa. In 2007 Giacomo and his daughter Ilaria celebrated the birth of the first grandson, Riccardo, with the vinification of the first harvest. The wine, a Chianti Classico DOCG, was called “Pargolo,” from an ancient word for “babe.” In 2014 the first vintage of "Giacomo" was produced. A pure merlot of exceptional quality, this wine has a truly Tuscan soul and is dedicated to the memory of a magnificent father and an outstanding figure in Italian wine history. The symbiotic relationship between man and nature is the basic concept of the family’s work and guides Ilaria and Raffaele's activities on a daily basis.
